				just got this laptop    a cheapo dell d600   so checkin it out   seemed to log in ok   _________________ I USED TO BE INDECISIVE, BUT NOW I,M NOT TO SURE.... |

We have a few of these at work.  They seem to always work ok..a  lot less trouble than the Toshibas were for sure. _________________ For every person with a spark of genius, there are a hundred with ignition trouble. |

				HE HE   YEP IT SEEMS OK just reformatted and loaded xp pro earlier, and its running fine  just need to upgrade the memory, got a measly 256mb card in it         _________________ I USED TO BE INDECISIVE, BUT NOW I,M NOT TO SURE.... |

				ACK..  Yeah that can bite. I managed to find some 512 sticks kicking around in the local pawn shop.  Problem I found with them is that the Dell seems to be really picky. I went through 6 of the same sticks before f inding one that worked.  They worked fine on the test machin.. just not in the Dell.
