is there an easy way to type the actual symbols with the circles around them? I always have to cut them from something else. is there a font that has these in it?

Here's how it's done. For the copyright symbol ©, hold down the alt key and type 0169 on your number pad. For the registered symbol ®, again hold down the alt key and type 0174 with the number pad. Here's a link to the ASCII characters you can type with the alt key. Just remember to put a zero in front of the numbers and use the number keypad, not the numbers at the top of your keyboard.
