Anyone have recommendations on DVD players that will play both NTSC and PAL formats without modification?

Talion,

Your best bet is to take an example of both discs into a store that will allow you to test them on a DVD player you are thinking of buying, or else choose a model you like and really google it, especially google the newsgroups - someone somewhere will probably have commented on this feature.

But from my current experience with DVD players here in Hockeytown(USA):

Denon - won't play PAL (this is a DVD/DVD-A/SACD player)
Sony - won't play PAL (single DVD w/ SACD)
Pioneer - Plays PAL (this is a DVD/DVD-A/SACD player)
Toshiba - Plays PAL (DVD changer)

So some brands/players support it, some don't.

Good luck in your search.

Just check the "Multisystem PAL/NTSC" section and browse for a player.
